Hello friends, my name is Katie, and I am the proud owner of Moxy Hair studio and Spa. I wear many hats at the salon from entrepreneur, to stylist, and of course, business manager. My career has evolved since 2005 when I first joined the beauty industry as a spa receptionist, discovering the many moving parts/roles found in the salon. I am happiest when I am able to step into these various roles. Greeting our lovely guests alongside our studio coordination team, creating hair magic on the styling floor along with my stylist team, and even quiet office time organizing the business brings me great joy.

 When you don't see me at the studio, you will find me alongside my husband Jake, running our son Wyatt and daughter Hallie, to their many sports and activities. If there is time left over, we will spend family time on the boat or on the snowmobile trails. 

 

I have created a life that I love both personally and professionally. The blessing is sharing it with my friends, family and guests that come to Moxy to relax and refresh. Thank you for supporting a small business and a dream.

Stylist Level: Master Stylist

Master of shears and color palettes, Grace is a Nova Academy of Cosmetology alumni with a flair for transforming hair and has been doing hair since 2019.

 

Specializing in fashion-forward colors, seamless lived-in looks, and luxurious Bellami hair extensions, they are the go-to stylist for those looking to make a statement.

 

With certifications in Brazilian Blowout and K18, Grace ensures each client leaves feeling uniquely themselves, empowered by a mane that mirrors their individuality. Step into Grace's chair for a hair experience that's as unique as you are!

Allie has been creating hair magic and sharing her love of the industry for 7 years now! After a short "professional" break in the hair world where she started raising her two young kids while working from home, she was ready to return behind the chair to share her passion for hair and making her guests feel like their best self once again.

​

Allie's favorite part of working behind the chair and with her guests is creating a customized experience for each guest and helping them feel their most beautiful self inside and outside. Allie's favorite services to offer are custom colors, body waxing, and facials. We can have you feeling like a new person walking out of the salon!

​

Allie is certified as a Bumble and Bumble Network Educator, with an aptitude for a great round brush blow out (supermodel hair anyone?!).

​

She is also our lead stylist in body waxing, brow laminations, lash lifts and tins, and teeth whitening. She really likes taking care of her guests from head to toe.

​

Allie is a graduate of Regency Beauty Institute - Master Designer Level and a Bumble and Bumble Network Educator.

Skyla has been with Moxy since August 2023, wowing and transforming clients. Whether it's a subtle change or a complete makeover, Skyla ensures each guest leaves feeling confident, looking and feeling their absolute best.

Skyla has been in the industry since 2018 and has a special talent for lived-in blondes, brunettes, and bold fashion colors. She brings a unique vision to life with each cut and color.

​

After honing her skills at Minnesota School of Beauty, Skyla continued to expand her expertise through advanced training: becoming Eufora education and certified in Brazilian Blowout and K18 treatments. Skyla is currently continuing her education with Babe Hair Extension Certification courses.

Aubrey is 18 years old and a senior at Pequot Lakes high school. She is one of our youngest employees at Moxy Hair Studio.

 

Aubrey enjoys spending time with friends on the water and hanging around the Brainerd Lakes area. She has recently been taking over some of the social media role with Moxy, along with being part of the Studio Coordination team.

After high school, she plans on going to college and getting her aesthetician license and potentially her cosmetology license. 

​

Aubrey came to Moxy because of her passion for helping people find their unique style. She is not sure what the future holds for her yet but knows that she wants to go into the beauty industry.

I joined the Moxy team in the summer of 2018 as a young stylist just getting settled into my career. I love being here because of the team and the fun atmosphere; it shows in our culture and in our guest visits.

 

When I'm not at the salon you can find me shopping, gardening with my fiance, Tyler, or coloring with our two boys Jameson and Sawyer. We love to travel and dream of making it to Bora Bora one of these days!

 

Behind the chair I am a very confident colorist and cutting specialist. I take my time and make sure to explain what I am doing to your hair to achieve your desired results.

 

My favorite treatment to add to your visit is the Brazilian Split End Repair - I love how it seals and protects your hair until we meet again. My favorite products are Bodifying Shampoo & Conditioner; not too heavy, but gives the perfect amount of moisture. And don't even get me started on Beautifying Serum... it is multipurpose so I can use it on my skin and my hair!

 

Stylist Level: Designer 2

Taylor has been doing hair since 2018 and truly loves what she does. She has a true passion for creating lived-in, dimensional, low maintenance color. She loves all things hair, from balayage to grey (aka sparkle) coverage, but her absolute favorite things to do behind the chair are blonding and extensions! 

​

Taylor values staying up to date on education and has taken extensive training in both color and extensions, including spending a weekend at the Harper Ellis headquarters in Arkansas, for an in-depth Master class on the Harper Ellis Concealed Bead Method.

​

When Taylor isn't at work, you can probably find her reading, playing with her fur babies Holly and Rhys, or somewhere outside. 

​

Taylor is a graduate of: Aveda Institute Minneapolis, Harper Ellis Extension Certified, Harler Ellis Extension Masterclass, Hotheads tape-in certified, K18 certified, and Brazilian Blowout certified.

Amanda has been in the beauty industry since 2020. She left a corporate job and decided it was time to be her own boss. She jumped right into eyelash extensions with a passion. Amanda attended MN Brow & Lash Academy to gain her education, obtaining her MN Salon Managers License.

​

She owned her own lash business for 3 years before deciding to take a break from lashing to prioritize her health and body. 

​

Amanda re-entered the industry when she joined Moxy in June 2023. She loves being a Studio Coordinator by assisting clients and taking care of her teammates.

​

Shortly after joining Moxy, Amanda decided to enter back into the world of lashing.

​

Amanda is also Airbrush Tan certified by Norvell University. She loves customizing airbrush tans for clients and believes everyone needs a little glow in their life.

​

Amanda loves making her clients feel beautiful and is passionate about client education.

I joined Moxy in November of 2020 after enjoying my experience as a guest I decided to make it my career home. I love working inside such a gorgeous space and the fun group of women there.

 

When I am not at the salon you will find me golfing, reading, boating, beaching, or cheering on the Vikings! - VIKINGS FOREVER !! I have 3 children, Lindsey, Cole, Jordan and 1 fur baby to boot!

 

I am the smile you hear when calling Moxy or the warm greeting you receive when you walk in the door. I enjoy helping you schedule your next visit and educating you about my favorite products or services to further pamper yourself. If I had to choose my favorite treatment it would be The Pick-Me-Up, 10 extra minutes of everyone's favorite Scalp massage. I love enjoying that with my favorite conditioner,  Urgent Repair - it doesn't get any better.
